Custom Search
When you are looking at private money lenders to get a mortgage, you will want to look at all the companies that are available. There was a time when doing so meant just visiting your local banks or maybe checking with the yellow pages. With the arrival of the Internet, private money lenders are everywhere. So, where to start? First, go to a decent search engine, something like Yahoo or Ask.com or Google; just by typing in the phrase: “private money lenders” you will get a long list of firms. Check out what is Available At that point, you will want to start checking them out, and selecting a couple to contact. Very often, if you just give them a little background information, they will pull your credit report, and then contact you about your loan. Now - don’t worry if you have less than stellar credit, many of these private money lenders are understanding about hard times, and can still get you a loan. Shoot for a Fixed Rate Instead of Adjustable Unless you have been living on a deserted island for the last year, you are well aware of the recent sub-prime loan debacle. How this all came about was that people were getting loans that had an adjustable interest rate. Initially, the rate was low, but after a couple years, it went up, and so did their payment. So, to protect yourself, you will want to get a fixed rate mortgage. Fortunately, the reputable private money lenders know the value of a fixed rate, and will steer you toward one. And, never be afraid to ask questions. These private money lenders are in the business of lending money so they can make money. It is their best interest to have well-informed clients. After all, they will be hoping you come back to them for a future loan, whether it is a home improvement loan, or another purchase. And, as a lot of private money lenders reply on good word-of-mouth advertising, they will be hoping you tell you friends about them. See also: All Articles for Home Mortgage Preparation
